Retro Movie Poster Designs
Posters by Brandon Schaefer
These days, I am often rather guilty of only designing professionally. In other words I’ll get creative if a company sends me a brief and I am actually getting paid for my work. I realise that it shouldn’t be like that. I began designing for the love of it and although it’s certainly possible to take enormous satisfaction and pleasure from client work, there is something very special about creating for the sheer hell of it.

I was reminded of this when I read an interview on Digital Arts with Brandon Schaefer. He took it upon himself to design a series of exceptional posters of well know films in a retro style. Apart from enjoying the work, this has led to a raising of his profile and offers of similar work from a French film company.
I think there may be a lesson to be learned there somewhere!
