  • Sleevage

    I love album cover art. As a nipper, every square-inch of my bedroom wall was covered in album sleeves. God knows what I did with the actual records. I think that may be one of the reasons I became a graphic designer in the first place. Even now, I’m generally more interested in the record design than the music.

    These days, I am often rather guilty of only designing professionally. In other words I’ll get creative if a company sends me a brief and I am actually getting paid for my work. I realise that it shouldn’t be like that. I began designing for the love of it and although it’s certainly possible to take enormous satisfaction and pleasure from client work, there is something very special about creating for the sheer hell of it.

  • Ninokuni: The Another World

    Having said previously that I’m not a huge fan of video games, it is rather strange to find myself writing about yet another one. This isn’t just any game though – it’s ‘Ninokuni: The Another World’ from Studio Ghibli. I devour all output from this incredible Japanese animation company so have been paying close attention to the development of this game.
